Two men were shot and wounded by police in south-east London on May 22 after they rammed an off-duty soldier with a car in broad daylight outside an army barracks before stabbing him to death in front of dozens of horrified bystanders.
The pair told stunned witnesses to take photographs and videos of them during the terrifying attack outside the Royal Artillery barracks in Woolwich, and claimed their actions were a response to British forces’ killing of Muslims.
Following the murder, more than 100 members of a far-right group clashed with police after a series of attacks on mosques in the south of England, while Prime Minister David Cameron was today due to hold a meeting with advisors as security was tightened around UK military bases.
