The daily Pressa was launched in early 2012 by Tocho Tochev, the former editor in chief of Troud and of 24 Tchassa and a large number of journalists from these two dailies. They all resigned after the sale of the papers and wanted to create a good "independent" daily that would be different from other Bulgarian media, often criticised for their lack of freedom of expression.
