European Convention on Human Rights, Article 10: Everyone has the right to freedom of expression.

The Danish Minister of Culture, Uffe Elbaek, has written to his EU counterparts as well as to European Commissioners for their opinion on a case that in recent days has been subject to much debate in Denmark: Apple's decision to withdraw from its online bookstore iBookstore a book on the Hippy movementon the basis that it contained nude photos.

At Apple's request, the e-book's editor covered images of buttocks, breasts and genitals of men with apples. After four days, however, the Californian company withdrew the book without explanation. Many writers and artists have mobilised to demand the intervention of the Danish authorities.
