French President François Hollande and UK Prime Minister David Cameron called on European Union leaders to support them in lifting the European arms embargo to Syria.
At an EU summit in Brussels, Hollande said France could no longer allow people to be “massacred by a regime which has shown it doesn’t want a political discussion.”
He said London and Paris were agreed that the embargo should be ended, however the idea is likely to run into opposition from Germany, notes the daily.
