‘Wealthy countries try to impose the most restrictive budget’

Those countries least affected by the crisis, such as Germany or the United Kingdom, want to impose limitations on the 2014-2020 budget. This position is opposite the countries of southern Europe, such as Spain, Italy and Portugal.

This controversy constitutes "a deep division", notes the Spanish daily, adding that a budget of €960bn is proposed and that: "For the first time in the history" of the EU, it will be below the previous one.
