With employment in January dropping by 0.8 per cent compared to the previous year and salaries unchanged or even reduced, Poles are tightening their belts.
They are cutting back on expenses, cancelling gym memberships and buying second-hand clothes.
According to GW’s survey, “one third of Polish employees are concerned that they might be fired at any time.”
