Paolo Scaroni, CEO of Italy’s energy giant ENI, is now officially under investigation in the bribe scandal involving his company.
ENI is accused of paying a €200m bribe through Saipem, a firm controlled by ENI, to secure a €11bn contract with Algerian counterpart Sonatrach, and its shares plummeted.
