In a report addressed to Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, ECB President Mario Draghi has urged Spanish banks to regard the eviction of families that are unable to pay their mortgages as a "last resort”.
The ECB report, which was requested by the Spanish Secretary of State for Economic Affairs and Business Support, explains the institution’s opinion on the anti-eviction law, which provides greater protection for vulnerable mortgage holders.
