Frozen beef lasagne made by Findus, one of Europe’s most popular food brands was in fact made out of horsemeat. This is just the latest chapter in an ongoing scandal into food contamination, which began last month and has seen horsemeat traces found in supermarket beefburgers in the UK, Ireland, Poland and France.
Findus said their supplier, Comigel, which is based in France, had been supplying them with “beef” for more than two years. Findus has withdrawn 180,000 products and has launched an investigation.
