Exactly 86 days after general elections, Germany has a new government. “Germans had to wait almost three months, but the pact between the CDU, the CSU and the SPD is now in place,” reports Die Welt.

On December 17, Angela Merkel, who obtained 462 votes from a total of 631, was elected Chancellor for the third time by the Bundestag.
