The European Commission published its budget recommendations to Eurozone member countries on 29 May.

It eased up budget requirements for several states, including Belgium, but on the proviso that they introduce reforms.

Meanwhile, spring is struggling to establish itself in western Europe, which is marked by higher than average rainfall and temperatures several degrees below the seasonal norm.
