One of the biggest ever terrorism trials in Belgium has started on 29 September in Antwerp, writes the Gazet van Antwerpen. It targets the radical muslim organisation Sharia4Belgium, which is suspected of the indoctrination of young Muslims through social media and readings, and of sending them to Syria to fight along with jihadists.

The federal prosecutor called the organisation “a breeding ground for muslim terrorists”. Of the 46 accused — all of whom belong to Sharia4Belgium — only 17 showed up for trial yesterday. The others are believed to be fighting or to have died in Syria. The hearings should last three days.
