Since returning to the political arena, former Italian Prime Minister Silivo Berlusconi has redoubled the number of sensational promises he is making to voters ahead of parliamentary elections due on February 24 and 25.
After proposing the scrapping of a property tax introduced by outgoing Prime Minister Mario Monti, he also pledged to return the €4bn already collected through the charge to taxpayers, before announcing that he would also create four million jobs for young people.
