Two years. For two years Ukrainians have been living with the invasion launched by Vladimir Putin on 24 February 2022, in their cities and towns, in their flesh, with their families, day after day, without interruption, and without any real hope for an end to the largest war on European soil since the second world war.
No large city has returned to normal, but life never stops completely. In Kyiv, mercilessly attacked this year as the last, a new normal prevails. Is public confidence in Volodymyr Zelensky still intact? Is Ukrainian optimism faltering? Are front line reinforcements a certainty? Are the destabilisation efforts of Russia working?
While the war in Gaza has turned the attention of many Europeans away from Ukraine, author Oksana Forostyna, who lives in Kyiv, will speak of her experiences and the imperative adaptation to permanent danger.
