‘Once upon a time there was a count...’

"For weeks, discussion has been raging on whether to erase and replace words such as "negro" from children’s stories in Germany," the newspaper reports. Linguists oppose these proposals, while the publishing world says it is normal to adapt the texts of their time.
To illustrate the discussion, the TAZ publishes an extract from The Tale of Cockaigne (Das Märchen vom Schlauraffenland), by the Brothers Grimm, and its modern equivalent.
