Belgium has occasonally request assistance from the “American big brother” to counter cyber-attacks. This is the key point of an interview given by deputy chief of staff General Eddy Testelmans to the magazine MO, which has been reported by Le Soir.

The daily explains that in early 2013, the staff of Belgian General Intelligence, were unable to overcome a virus, without the “aid of US intelligence services”, specifically the National Security Agency’s (NSA) Cyber Command. The NSA had previously intervened on three occasions “to share information on threats of terrorist attack in Belgium.”
