"If a person is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?" Pope Francis told reporters accompanying him on a plane back to Rio de Janeiro, where he chaired the World Youth Day.

The Pontif added that "homosexuals should be integrated into society," perhaps indicating a major shift in the Catholic Church's stance to a community that it has often rejected.
