Two Swedish journalists — Paris-based reporter Magnus Falkehed and independent photographer Niclas Hammarström — “were kidnapped while leaving a combat zone” on November 23, on the road between the city of Yabroud, in Syria, and the Lebanese border, reports Dagens Nyheter.
“The last trace [of the pair] is an SMS sent from an unknown area [on November 22], and in which they said that everything was fine”, writes the daily. Falkehed and Hammarström “had entered Syria via Lebanon on November 18,” explains Dagens Nyheter, which adds that they intended —
… to write about doctors working in very difficult conditions. […] Experts from the Swedish police in Stockholm are helping work on the search for the two journalists.
