Eleftherotypia pays tribute to the rapper and anti-fascist activist Pavlos Fyssas by quoting his lyrics, following his death on the night of September 17 into 18 in a suspected attack by a member of the extreme right Golden Dawn party.

The daily speaks of a “political crime” and reports that several thousand people took part in a demonstration in the Kerastini neighbourhood of Piraeus, where Fyssas, aged 34, was stabbed to death. Police intervened using tear gas and water cannons and made 23 arrests.

Demonstrations were also organised in other towns, where they took place in conjunction with a public sector strike and protests against civil service layoffs.
