“In January, the only thing left will be the goat” begins an “investigative” report published by the Daily Mail on November 10, which claims that “half the population” of the village of Sacoşu Turcesc, in western Romania, plans to move to the UK after the easing of labour market restrictions allowing Romanians and Bulgarians to enter the British jobs market from January 1, 2014.
“This story was put together deceitfully!” rages Adevărul, which claims that “the journalists presented themselves as employers and even put a goat in the yard belonging to the Roma who featured of the story!”
The British journalists “were completely detached from reality, arriving from London with a cunning plan to undermine the image of our country,” points out the daily, which concludes: “This is not surprising, because British journalists already have a long tradition of smearing Romanians…”
